- 4 cups hot water
- 3/4 cup quick-cooking Tapioca Pearls
- Whole milk (or any milk alternative)
- Combine equal amounts of water and sugar (1/2 cup of each) to make simple syrup. Stir until dissolved and cool.
Instructions
- Brew the Tea: Steep the black tea bags or loose-leaf tea in 4 cups of hot water. Let it cool to room temperature.
- Prepare the Simple Syrup: In a saucepan, mix equal parts water and sugar. Dissolve equal parts sugar and water (1/2 cup each) in a saucepan, then let it cool.
- To cook the tapioca pearls, bring 4 cups of water to a boil. Add Tapioca Pearls and cook for about 5 minutes, stirring occasionally. After cooking, drain the pearls and rinse them under cold water.Store the pearls in simple syrup to absorb the sweetness.
- Assemble the Drink: Divide the cooked Tapioca Pearls into glasses. Add ice, pour cooled tea over, then add milk and simple syrup to taste. Stir and serve!
